Hi, I'm Natalia

As both founder and lead barista of Sekawan Coffee, I live my passion on both sides of the counter every single day. Stepping behind the bar bridges the gap between high-level vision and the warm, everyday connections that make a neighborhood thrive. The world of specialty coffee captured my mind and heart in 2022, sparked by a dream to bring the richness of Indonesian coffee to the valley. I fell in love with the intricate science and artistry in every brew, knowing instantly I wanted to immerse my hands into the industry. From hosting intimate coffee tastings at home to standing behind the counter today, the journey has been anything but a straight line. Yet every detour has shaped the entrepreneur, craftsman, and storyteller I am today. My vision is to cultivate a community that deeply appreciates the art and heritage behind specialty coffee through the lens of Indonesian culture. Every cup I pour is a personal invitation to slow down, connect, and savor the craft—one brew at a time. Welcome to Sekawan Coffee!

Meet Madi

Howdy! I’m Madi and I’ve been a barista for 11 years now. I took a 3 year hiatus from the coffee scene to explore the wine world and dip my toes into tutoring and teaching. However, in 2024 I took a trip to Costa Rica with my husband and we had the amazing opportunity to see Coffee plants in blossom… That was it! I fell head over heels for coffee all over again and slowly started making my way back into specialty-coffee-land. Now I’m back and LOVING it!  When I’m not in the shop you’ll catch me gardening, writing, reading, video gaming, or napping in a sunbeam. I’m basically a Hobbit with a passion for coffee. Cheers!

Meet shelby

My background revolves around all things cultural, and much to my own surprise, coffee and wine tucks itself quite nicely within that background! When I’m not at the café, there’s a few places I may be: reading and sipping wine in a sunny spot, hanging upside-down or getting tangled in aerial silks, or hunched at a desk either playing games or trying to write. I also have three goofball cats, and I’m always eager to exchange unflattering cat photos. Whether you want terrible pictures of my giant cat Sammy, book recommendations, or a lovely drink from Sekawan, I got you.
